PCD is sintered from diamond grits and a metal catalyst, under the condition of high temperature and high pressure. It has a sintered PCD top and a carbide substrate. The high wear resistance and high hardness make it an ideal material for cutting different objects. In concrete floor grinding tools, it is usually used for removing all kinds of floor coatings, including epoxy, glue, paint, resin, and others. Different from the copper welding of diamond segments, the welding type of PCD should be the silver welding. Because the silver welding needs a lower temperature (which could protect the sinter PCD split from the carbide substrate).
